Jenni and James Murphy and their daughter purchased a three bedroomed Victorian terraced home in Isleworth with the intention of eventually developing the loft. However, when child number two was on the way the couple decided to bring forward their expansion plans.
“We had already seen how the attic space in these properties could be developed as many of our neighbours have had loft conversions,” said Jenni. “Once our second child was due we decided to have the work done before the baby was born.”
The couple saw several different companies and found Econoloft to be the most price competitive and demonstrated the best knowledge about how their ideas could become a reality.

“Having a loft conversion helped us make full use of the bedroom space and so in effect we re-designed the top two floors of the house to transform it into a family home that we would be able to use for many years to come.”
The couple decided to convert one of the original three bedrooms into a family bathroom and have two rooms built in the loft space. The three bedroom terrace home has now been transformed into a highly desirable four bedroom home with two bathrooms. Jenni and James will take the master bedroom with an ensuite and the second loft bedroom will become a nursery. Their daughter has a generous sized bedroom to grow into and the family can now also boast a spacious guest bedroom.
“We had a budget for the work and my main concern was the builders would quote a figure that would keep creeping up once the build had started,” said Jenni. “However, Econoloft kept to their original quote and in fact were very transparent as far as costs were concerned.
“The on-site team were fabulous and the Project Manager kept us up to date every step of the way. We would definitely recommend Econoloft to anybody having such significant building work done.”
The investment has proved to be money well spent. “An estate agent advised us that the extension would add at least the amount of money to the property that we invested and so
in effect the conversion has paid for itself. However, it’s not just about adding value to the property but making it a home for our family to grow.
“We just love it!"
