Matthew and Sarah live in Bromley in a three bed, two bath, semi-detached home.
They love having friends and family to visit but the spare bedrooms were quite small and they wanted more space. Living close to Econoloft’s West Wickham showroom, it’s no wonder we were front of mind when they decided to have a loft conversion.
“We invited a few companies to talk to us and give us a quote,” said Matthew. “However, it was immediately clear that Econoloft was by far the most professional and had the expertise we wanted for peace of mind. The other companies gave us a quote and were in and out - but Econoloft’s representative took his time and was open and honest.”
Econoloft developed a dormer loft conversion with a large ensuite. “Sarah wanted a bath but I wanted a shower – so we decided to have both,” said Matthew. “We also opted to have a French window with a glass balustrade and this, together with two Velux windows make the loft conversion a lovely, light filled room. Even in the winter, we get enough winter sun to be able to sit and read and feel nice and cosy.”
Matthew said that everything was straight forward with the build. “We needed a party wall agreement and Econoloft gave us the relevant paperwork and made it nice and simple. During the build, we hardly knew the workmen were here and when they did come through into the house, they were neat and tidy and always cleaned up after themselves each day.”
Matthew says that moving home to get an additional bedroom would have been far too expensive and he believes the Econoloft loft conversion has added at least £100,000 to their property, making it great value for money.
He adds: “We both love our new loft conversion and it’s Sarah’s favourite room in the house. We have beautiful views from our balcony and in fact, we can actually see the Shard in the distance. Better still, when overnight guests visit, they can now enjoy more space – although we will keep the best room to ourselves!”
