What height is required?
Although the Building Regulations do not specify a minimum height requirement for new rooms, one has to consider the practicality for the use of the proposed room.
Min headroom is a requirement over the new staircase and this is often the governing factor when considering a loft conversion. We at Econoloft advise that you require a min height of 2.3m from the top of the existing ceiling joists to the bottom of the existing ridge board.
